About

My name is Kelsey and I’m an open amateur boxer in Georgia. I love boxing, writing and writing about boxing.

I’ve been boxing for five years. Although I took a fake fitness kickboxing class in high school, I had no actual boxing experience when I began training in early January 2012. I started boxing for fitness, but discovered that I definitely wanted to compete. Without a doubt, this has changed my life in a big way and there is no going back!

I started this blog when I signed up for my first fight, as a way of recording my thoughts and progress, and also to spread the word about my fundraising efforts for the charity boxing show. I didn’t plan to keep blogging after that first fight, but I’ve found something that I enjoy sharing.

When I’m not boxing… I’m eating or sleeping. (Just kidding! Or am I…?) First, I was a teacher by trade. When I dove into boxing and lost all sense, I left teaching to work at my previous gym home. At the beginning of 2017, five years into my boxing journey, I moved to a new trainer and gym. My boxing and work are separate now, and I’m a cheerful Customer Service staff associate at Publix. On the side, I babysit because I can’t get enough of my little folks. I enjoy reading, watching movies and spending time with friends and family.
